Independent guideVibration vs Percussion Massage Devices
Vibration and percussion tools both create mechanical movement, but the way they deliver it can differ substantially. Comparing frequency and stroke helps explain why the devices feel different.
Frequency and stroke
Frequency describes how rapidly a mechanism cycles; stroke or amplitude describes how far it moves. Rapid Release lists a short 1/16-inch amplitude and speeds from 4,000 to about 10,000 VPM across its current range. Its own comparison materials contrast that with larger-stroke percussion devices.
Different does not automatically mean better
A specification comparison can establish that two mechanisms differ. It cannot, on its own, establish that one produces better health outcomes for every person or use case. Product-specific claims deserve product-specific evidence.
Which should you consider?
Think about preferred sensation, ergonomics, intended area, instructions, portability and price. If you are specifically considering Rapid Release, continue to the model comparison.
